Haymakers Tag Grays with 6-2 Loss
|
The Philadelphia Haymakers beat the Washington Grays, 6-2, at Grays Ballpark. The win was due in part to shortstop Louie Truswell, who went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Everton Mackaness earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. With the win, Philadelphia upped its record to 27-16.
Chad McGuire helped out the Philadelphia cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 1-4.
"Enjoyed this one," Truswell told the Philadelphia Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
