Gunners Drop 6-2 Decision
|
Washington Grays starter Casey Thompson turned in an exceptional performance against the Newark Gunners at Grays Ballpark, resulting in a Washington win, 6-2. Thompson went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2. With the win, the Grays have a record of 33-27.
Baltwin Roks dealt the Gunners a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Washington leading 3-2, Roks, who finished 4th in the SL in stolen bases with 35 in 1988, hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Roks told the Washington Chronicle.
