Superbas Lose to Gunners, 6-3
|
Newark picked up a win at The Armory, toppling the Rockville Superbas, 6-3. Pitcher Alejandro Valentín was one of the reasons the Gunners triumphed. Valentín got the win, improving to 5-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Valentín allowed 1 run. With the win, the Gunners improved to 31-32.
Contributing to the Newark win was Marvin McGrady. In the bottom of the first, the three-time Golden Glove Award winner had a 2-run double. That made the score 3-0, the Gunners in front.
"It's a mindset," said Valentín. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
