Rock Creek Sports Complex was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Rockville Superbas and Newark Gunners.

The Rockville Superbas picked up a win at Rock Creek Sports Complex, taking down the Newark Gunners, 3-2. Starting pitcher Elwood Wan was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Wan, now 7-2. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Yukinaga Takahashi notched his 11th save in 15 chances.

The Superbas got a big at-bat from left fielder Darren Morgenstern. For the game, Morgenstern went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Rockville a 3-2 lead.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Morgenstern said.

The Superbas now have a record of 26-35 with the win over Newark.
