Sheriffs Lose to Superbas, 4-1
|
Rockville Superbas starter Roberto Salazar pitched a strong game against the Poughkeepsie Sheriffs at Rock Creek Sports Complex, leading the Superbas to victory, 4-1. Marcos Rivas earned the save, his 3rd, for the Superbas. The win puts Rockville at 4-3.
Elliot Alton came through for Rockville when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-2 changeup to right-center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
"Roberto -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Superbas manager Ray DeRoy. "He was the key to us winning."
