Beach Bums Pitching Ravaged by Mkwasi
Fans at Hyde Road got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.

The Manchester City Baseball Stars outplayed the Kingston upon Hull Beach Bums en route to a 9-7 win, but the standout was left fielder Salim Mkwasi. Mkwasi netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.

"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Beach Bums manager Edward Pether said in his postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."

Salim Mkwasi singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Enrique Gutiérrez in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.

This year Mkwasi has collected a .314 batting average to date with 38 hits in 121 at-bats, 22 RBIs, 6 home runs and scored 18 times. He has played in 33 games.
