Brooklyn second baseman Bob James contributed to his team's 4-3 win over the Poughkeepsie Sheriffs. James, who is tied for 7th in the SL in bases on balls with 41, went 4 for 4 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bums. The win has Brooklyn at 32-53.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until James delivered big-time for Brooklyn, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Carl Hotham. The game-changing hit put the Bums on top, 4-3.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," James told the Brooklyn Chronicle. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
