|
In a tight game between the Washington Grays and the Rockville Superbas, pitcher Jorge Otero was terrific on the mound. The Washington right-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. Otero, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Rockville falls to 3-7.
Ayuba Njama, who finished 4th in the SL in OPS with .850 in 1981, aided the Washington cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.
"It's a mindset," said Otero. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
