Getting an impressive start from Francisco Sánchez, Philadelphia beat Newark by the score of 6-1. In 8 innings, Sánchez surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Philadelphia pushed its record to 68-34.
With one out in the top of the first, Kaseeb bin Kahil hit a go-ahead 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and with it the Haymakers took a 3-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Philadelphia manager Jon Lyons.
