Poughkeepsie picked up a win at Sheriffs Ballpark, bumping off the Brooklyn Bums, 5-3. Pitcher Tyler Frisby was a major reason the Sheriffs emerged victorious. Dermot Hollis sewed up the save, his 2nd. Brooklyn drops to 3-9.
Bob Browne drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Poughkeepsie. The 28-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Cristo Pérez. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Poughkeepsie manager Kyle Barnhart.
