1990 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Brooklyn Bums.
Poughkeepsie got a strong outing from Tyler Frisby as the Sheriffs defeated the Brooklyn Bums, 3-2, at Bushwick Stadium. Carl Hotham snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 2-2 on the season.
Paco Chávez provided some late-game heroics for Poughkeepsie. In the top of the 13th inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 1-1 cutter from Eduardo Soto and propelled Poughkeepsie to a 3-2 lead.
Chávez attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
