Superbas Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bums, 8-6
|
Ángel Rodríguez left his imprint on the 8-6 Rockville win against the Brooklyn Bums. Rodríguez, who finished 4th in the SL in doubles with 26 in 1988, was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Rockville reliever Wilson Lewis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Álex Díaz was saddled with the loss. The losing streak for Brooklyn has now reached 5 games.
Aghilas Kelueljang came through for Rockville in the top of the ninth. With one out, Kelueljang victimized Álex Díaz with a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put Rockville on top, 8-6.
