Steamrollers Earn 7-4 Win Versus Halifax
|
Providence and Halifax duked it out and the Steamrollers came out victorious.
Halifax got a terrific game from right fielder Tolek Budrewicz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Providence, 7-4. Budrewicz was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. Joshua Farquharson got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Charlie Minto collected his 1st save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when center fielder Rodrigo Lugo hit a 2-run double. The Steamrollers went on to win.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Steamrollers manager Matt Haynes. "This one was nice to get."
The defeat makes Halifax 2-1.
