Boggs Masters Brooklyn in Complete Game Win
|
Philadelphia rode a good effort from starter Damon Boggs to beat the Brooklyn Bums at Bushwick Stadium. The final score was 5-1. The Bums fall to 5-11 and continue their rocky start to the 1990 season.
Boggs was in the zone all game. He frustrated Brooklyn hitters while giving the Haymakers 9 innings of quality work. Boggs threw 111 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 6 punchouts.
"I like our moxie," said Haymakers manager Jon Lyons.
