Bucks Win at Fredericton, 8-3
|
The Moncton Bucks picked up a win at Swerdlove Stadium, knocking off the Fredericton Salamanders, 8-3. Starting pitcher Allen McGinnity played a key role in the triumph. McGinnity, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. Fredericton falls to 3-2.
Jorge Flores helped the cause in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single. His at-bat contributed to the Moncton win.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said McGinnity.
