Golden Giants Stumble, Lose to Sasquatches
|
The Halifax Golden Giants got a superb performance from first baseman Dale Jewell. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Saint John. The Sasquatches won the game, 8-4. Jewell was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. Fraser MacDuff earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Donald Moore sewed up the save, his 1st.
Octávio Baca was a prime factor in the win for the Sasquatches. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, the 24-year old third baseman hit a run-scoring single. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
"It feels good to get this one," Baca told the Saint John Daily News.
The win gives Saint John a record of 3-3.
