Joel Vellenoweth was a major contributor to the 7-1 Providence win over Halifax. The Steamrollers right fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The defeat makes Halifax 2-6.

The Steamrollers got a big hit from second baseman Denny Reed. In the bottom of the fifth, Reed pounded a run-scoring triple to left-center. His 2nd triple of the season put the Steamrollers ahead, 2-0.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Providence skipper Matt Haynes.
