Lumberjacks Lose By a Run at Fredericton, 2-1
|
Fredericton Salamanders pitcher Todd Baldwin was in fine form, leading his team past the Bangor Lumberjacks, 2-1. The loss makes Bangor 8-6.
Alaric Hamann, who led the NL in OPS with .922 in 1988, aided the Fredericton cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 2-3 with a double and a walk.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Baldwin told a Fredericton Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
