The Bangor Lumberjacks picked up a win at Lumberjacks Ballpark, knocking off the Halifax Golden Giants, 3-2. Starting pitcher Luke Hillier was a big reason why. Bangor reliever Norm Turner was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Jimmy Bacon took the loss. The Golden Giants fall to 9-12 and continue their lackluster start in 1990.

Ricardo Fernández was the walk-off hero for Bangor. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lumberjacks left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Fernández.
