Extra-Inning Win by Steamrollers Over Salamanders
|
Fans who congregated at Swerdlove Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Providence Steamrollers had to overcome a big game from Fredericton catcher Robin Broderick to leave Swerdlove Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 4-2. Broderick went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win has Providence at 9-13.
It could have been a different outcome for Providence, had it not been for Ron Swallow, the three-time All-Star . Swallow contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the 12th inning to put Providence up, 3-2.
"It was a solid team effort," said Swallow after the game.
