Bangor Lumberjacks starter Sancho Hernández turned in a workmanlike performance against the Saint John Sasquatches at Saint John Stadium. Hernández, now 2-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Saint John drops to 13-10.
Enrique Fernández, the 26-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fernández contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Bangor up, 3-2.
Hernández expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
