Salamanders Come Up Short at Saint John, 3-2
|
Saint John picked up a win at Saint John Stadium, bumping off the Fredericton Salamanders, 3-2. Pitcher Graham Wooddisse was a major reason the Sasquatches emerged victorious. The win gives Saint John a season record of 16-11.
The Sasquatches got a big at-bat from third baseman Octávio Baca. For the game, Baca was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Saint John a 3-2 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Wooddisse told the Saint John Daily News.
