Sasquatches Improve to 19-11 with 7-0 Win
|
The Saint John Sasquatches extended their winning streak.
With third baseman Octávio Baca leading the charge, the Saint John Sasquatches defeated the Providence Steamrollers, 7-0, at Steamrollers Ballpark. Baca, who is tied for 5th in the NL in doubles with 7, was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. With the win, Saint John pushed its record to 19-11.
It could have been a different outcome for Saint John, had it not been for Jesús Díaz, the four-time Golden Glove Award winner . Díaz contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put Saint John up, 2-0.
"I believe in our guys," said Saint John skipper Jason Russell. "I like the energy they're playing with."
