Golden Giants Improve to 15-14 with 4-1 Win
|
Halifax and Fredericton duked it out and the Golden Giants came out victorious.
The Halifax Golden Giants defeated the Fredericton Salamanders, 4-1, in Northern League action at Golden Giants Stadium. Halifax pitcher Michael Richards had a standout performance. In 6.1 innings, Richards surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run.
The Golden Giants got a big at-bat from center fielder Perry Baardman. For the game, Baardman was 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Halifax a 3-1 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Halifax manager Anthony Puhl.
The victory gives Halifax a record of 15-14.
