Great Day for Rodríguez Jr. -- 5 Hits
It was high-fives all around for Kent Rodríguez Jr. at Ballpark of Newport News today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Glade Spring Diamond Cats. Rodríguez Jr. smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 20-10 win.

"Kent was hitting everything," said Cut Throats manager . "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Diamond Cats manager Carlos Lozano told BNN beat writers that Rodríguez Jr. "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," he said. "Hopefully, Rodríguez Jr. oversleeps next time."

Kent Rodríguez Jr. singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

For the year Rodríguez Jr. is batting .332 with no home runs.
