Baseball Stars Win to Extend Series Lead to 4-0
The Manchester City Baseball Stars moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Brooklyn Bums on the road at Kopra Park by a score of 4-2. Baseball Stars right-hander Nealon Redihough was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Baseball Stars a 4-0 advantage in the best-of-9 The King's Cup.

The Baseball Stars beat the Bums in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Tristan Mallenbrandt produced in the top of the sixth. Batting against Brooklyn pitcher Justin Gibson, Mallenbrandt gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"It feels good, just a great win all around," Mallenbrandt said after the game.

Game 5 is set to be played on Sunday, September 20th, 1953 at Hyde Road. Slated to start are Javier Galván for the Bums and Joost Hekman for the Baseball Stars.
