Moncton and Fredericton put this game in the books despite some rain.
In a low-scoring affair between the Moncton Bucks and the Fredericton Salamanders, pitcher Sebastian Sewell was the difference between victory and defeat. The Moncton right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Bucks win. The winning pitcher was Sewell, now 5-1. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 10. José Guerra collected save number 6.
It could have been a different outcome for Moncton, had it not been for Bailey Gomme, the two-time All-Star . Gomme contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Moncton up, 3-2.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Gomme said.
Moncton now has a 3-game win streak.
