The Fredericton Salamanders got a stellar performance from pitcher Suhayb bin Mahmoud, who handcuffed the Halifax offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Swerdlove Stadium. Fredericton, with the win, climbs to 14-30.

One of the stars of the game was Fredericton designated hitter Ángel Rodríguez. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, he got a cutter from Jason Murdoch and hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2 in favor of the Salamanders.

"We'll build on this win," said bin Mahmoud.
