Golden Giants Top Steamrollers to Even Record
|
Halifax got a strong outing from Will Duke as the Golden Giants defeated the Providence Steamrollers, 6-2, at Steamrollers Ballpark. Duke, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The win elevated the Golden Giants to 24-24.
Diego Barrios, the two-time Golden Bat Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Barrios contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the fifth inning to put Halifax up, 3-0.
"We had a good game plan," Duke said, "and we were able to execute it."
