Bucks Get 4th Straight Win with Late Rally
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Moncton Bucks and Saint John Sasquatches.
Moncton Bucks starter António Castro was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Saint John Sasquatches, 4-2. In 7 innings, Castro surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. José Guerra closed it out for his 5th save.
In the top of the eighth, Moncton shortstop Jammu Karila had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Saint John hurler Donald Moore, Karila hit a sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-2, Moncton. For the day, Karila drove in one run.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Moncton manager Joel Odenbach.
The Northern League-leading Bucks are 34-21.
