Win Lifts Sasquatches to 33-26
|
Led by Rob Ávila, the Saint John Sasquatches downed the Providence Steamrollers, 6-2. Ávila was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Sasquatches. Héctor Pérez was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The triumph puts Saint John at 33-26 for the season.
Saint John used the clutch hitting of Carlos Hickling to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Sasquatches the lead, 4-1. For the game, Hickling had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
