Montalvo Stars in 9-3 Bucks Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from catcher Aurelio Montalvo led the Moncton Bucks to a win over the Halifax Golden Giants, 9-3. Gerry Colenutt snagged the win in relief. In 3 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 4-2 on the season. Halifax has now lost 6 consecutive games.
The Bucks got a big at-bat from right fielder Bailey Gomme. For the game, Gomme was 1 for 4 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 11th double of the season gave Moncton a 5-2 lead.
"We came out aggressive," said Bucks manager Joel Odenbach. "We came out swinging the bats."
