Golden Giants Lose Again, 3-0, to Sasquatches
|
The Halifax Golden Giants got a superb performance from pitcher Gabriel Browning. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Saint John. The Sasquatches won the game, 3-0. Browning threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Héctor Pérez notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 8-4. Haroun Al Rachid Awad, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
The Sasquatches grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Ger Klerk, who is tied for 5th in the NL in home runs with 11, hit a 2-run home run off Gabriel Browning, putting Saint John in front, 3-0. For Klerk, it was his 11th home run of the season.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Anthony Puhl. "But it's got to translate into wins."
Halifax has now lost 9 in a row.
