Sasquatches Lose to Salamanders, 9-3
|
Fredericton starter Steve Calhoun had a strong outing against the Saint John Sasquatches at Swerdlove Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 9-3 win. Calhoun picked up the win for Fredericton, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-8. Fredericton, with the win, climbs to 20-51.
With two out in the bottom of the second, Matsu Sugahara barreled up a changeup from Jami Skyttä. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Salamanders in front, 4-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Salamanders manager Chris Mills. "We came out swinging the bats."
