Jason Murdoch was locked and loaded, helping the Halifax Golden Giants beat the Fredericton Salamanders, 3-1. Juan Reveladores converted his 9th save in 10 tries. With the win, Halifax raised its record to 40-35.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dale Jewell? The Halifax first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Golden Giants on top, 3-1. For the game, Jewell had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Halifax manager Anthony Puhl said.
