Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Providence Steamrollers and Bangor Lumberjacks.
The Providence Steamrollers topped the Bangor Lumberjacks, 5-4, in Northern League action at Steamrollers Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Providence pitcher Darren Terry. Charlie Minto earned his 7th save in 11 tries.
One of the biggest contributors for Providence was first baseman Jeff Young. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, Young got a full count changeup and hit a run-scoring single. That put the Steamrollers on top, 5-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Providence manager Matt Haynes.
Providence, at 37-49, occupies 4th place in the Northern League.
