Sasquatches Lose By a Run at Providence, 4-3
|
The Providence Steamrollers did just enough to sneak past the Saint John Sasquatches, 4-3, at Steamrollers Ballpark. Providence pitcher Roberto Colón, in particular, had a standout performance. In 9 innings, Colón surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. The loss makes Saint John 51-37.
One of the biggest contributors for Providence was pinch hitter Jeff Young. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, Young got a full count cutter and hit a 2-run single. That put the Steamrollers on top, 4-3.
Young called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
