Lumberjacks Lose to Salamanders, 4-2
|
The Fredericton Salamanders picked up a win at Swerdlove Stadium, taking down the Bangor Lumberjacks, 4-2. Starting pitcher Alfredo Enríquez was a big reason why. Enríquez went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. His record improves to 3-12. Earning the save was Peter Hutchence. He's now cashed in 6 of 7 save opportunities.
One of the biggest contributors for Fredericton was third baseman Manny Pacheco. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, Pacheco got a first pitch cutter and hit a 2-run home run. That put the Salamanders on top, 4-2.
"Alfredo is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Fredericton manager Chris Mills.
The win has Fredericton at 30-61.
