Lumberjacks Deal Salamanders 4-1 Defeat
|
The umbrellas came out during the Bangor-Fredericton contest at Swerdlove Stadium.
Joel Bleazzard never let Fredericton get something going. The Bangor right-hander commanded his splitter in pitching the Lumberjacks to a 4-1 win. Norm Turner converted his 14th save in 19 tries.
One of the biggest contributors for Bangor was right fielder David Murray. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, Murray got a first pitch cutter and hit a 3-run home run. That put the Lumberjacks on top, 3-0.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Bleazzard.
The win elevated the Lumberjacks to 52-40.
