Lumberjacks Drop Golden Giants, 6-3

Bangor pitcher Sugimoto Kato did his part in helping his team beat the Halifax Golden Giants, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Kato picked up the win for Bangor, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-5. With the win, Bangor upped its record to 59-42.
The Golden Giants had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Lumberjacks going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old first baseman Dan Bradshaw came to the plate. Bradshaw hit a 2-run triple on a 1-2 fastball from Halifax hurler David Marroquín. It was Bradshaw's 8th triple of the year.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bradshaw said.
