The timely hitting of Rodrigo Lugo helped the Providence Steamrollers down the Fredericton Salamanders, 9-4. Lugo went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Steamrollers. The Steamrollers, at 47-61, have now won 6 straight.
In the bottom of the first, Brian O'Hanraghan hit a 2-run double. The 18th double of the season for the Providence right fielder put the Steamrollers on top, 2-1.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," O'Hanraghan said. "We did a good job of that today."
