Golden Giants Earn 6-3 Win Against Lumberjacks
|
Halifax and Bangor duked it out and the Golden Giants came out victorious.
Gerardo Macías was instrumental in his team's 6-3 triumph over the Bangor Lumberjacks. The designated hitter went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Halifax Golden Giants. At 48-62, the Golden Giants claim 5th place in the Northern League.
Halifax used the clutch hitting of Diego Barrios to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Golden Giants ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Macías.
