3-1 Loss Extends Fredericton Skid
|
Saint John starter Olezka Rochegov put a stranglehold on the Fredericton offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Sasquatches to a 3-1 win. The slumping Salamanders have dropped 6 in a row.
The Sasquatches got a big at-bat from first baseman Ger Klerk. For the game, Klerk went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Saint John a 2-0 lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Klerk told the Saint John Observer.
