Almost There: Halifax On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 5-0 Win
Facing elimination, the Halifax Golden Giants were looking for a savior. For today, at least, Sergio Vásquez delivered.

At Albuquerque Grounds, the 28-year old pitched a game for the ages to fend off the Albuquerque Sky and help the Golden Giants close their deficit in the ACB Championship. Vásquez threw a 9-inning, complete-game shutout in the 5-0 Halifax win, striking out 4 and allowing 4 hits. The Golden Giants how trail - in the best-of- series.

Vásquez pitched a complete game for Halifax. The 28-year-old right-hander was charged with no runs on 4 hits. He struck out 4 during his 101-pitch performance.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Vásquez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Albuquerque Grounds in Albuquerque. Slated to start are Rafael Mendoza for Halifax and Parker Minor for Albuquerque.
