Almost There: Newark On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 11-1 Win
Game was big. So was Juan Ramos.

The Newark starter rose to the occasion at Big Stick Ballpark today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Gunners to a crucial 11-1 victory over the Houston Big Stick. Ramos threw 8 innings allowing 1 run as the Gunners won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Nick Richards aided the Newark cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.

Richards called the triumph "a good team win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Big Stick Ballpark. Slated to start are Jesse Blackwell for the Newark Gunners and Francisco Vásquez for the the Houston Big Stick.
