Almost There: Newark On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 5-2 Win
Newark left fielder Joe Barnett was the key at Big Stick Ballpark today, being named player of the game as he powered the Gunners to victory in a critical Game of the ACB Championship. The Gunners took the 5-2 win over the Houston Big Stick to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Brandon Williamson, who is a four-time All-Star, aided the Newark cause with a 2-run single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Newark manager John Bibler said.

Game 3 is set to be played Wednesday, September 20th, 1978 at The Armory in Newark. Slated to start are Joey Tregoning for the Houston Big Stick and Tariku Naadir for the the Newark Gunners.
