Almost There: Saint John On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 8-4 Win
The Saint John Sasquatches moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the Manchester City Baseball Stars on the road at Hyde Road by a score of 8-4. Sasquatches shortstop Miguel Padilla was named player of the game after he went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. The win gives the Sasquatches a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Alexei Gaidamakin, who won the Golden Bat Award in 1972, aided the Saint John cause with a 2-run single in the top of the third. For the game, the first baseman went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Best-of- series are brutal," Manchester City manager Juan Nieves said. "You can get into trouble so fast. We can't afford any mistakes now."
