Almost There: Poughkeepsie On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 4-3 Win
The Poughkeepsie Sheriffs needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 3 today. The Sheriffs got the 4-3 win against the Liverpool AC in a walk-off at Sheriffs Ballpark. Poughkeepsie right-hander Pedro Maes was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Sheriffs a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Joseph Sargent was the walk-off hero for Poughkeepsie. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sheriffs right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Liverpool manager Clement Belding said following the tough loss.

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in Poughkeepsie. Slated to start are Uqessun Jumba for Liverpool and Manny López for Poughkeepsie.
