Almost There: Saint John On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 5-2 Win
The Saint John Sasquatches needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 3 today. The Sasquatches got the 5-2 win against the Washington Grays in a walk-off at Saint John Stadium. Saint John right-hander Taweel bin Qaraja was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 9 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Sasquatches a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Mike Fitzpatrick chipped in for Saint John with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.

"I felt good up there," said Fitzpatrick. "I saw the ball well."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Everett Moore for the Washington Grays and Habimana Zuri for the the Saint John Sasquatches.
