Almost There: Moncton On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 4-0 Win

Game was big. So was Javier Cugat.
The Moncton starter rose to the occasion at The Armory today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Bucks to a crucial 4-0 victory over the Newark Gunners. Cugat threw 8 innings of shutout ball as the Bucks won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- ACB Championship.
Cugat, who was born in England, threw 97 pitches over 8.1 innings, while allowing no earned runs.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Cugat.
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday. Slated to start are Tariku Naadir for Newark and Carlos Ibarra for Moncton.
